Engineering and Construction Camps
Lake Michigan Post has been supporting the annual SAME Engineering and Construction Camps since 1999. This program is for high school students who have completed the 9, 10, or 11 grades. There are presently two camps held each July. They are located at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Co and Naval Base Ventura County in Port Hueneme, CA. These camps provide high school students with an opportunity to obtain hands-on experience in "real world" engineering & construction environments. Ask Ken Endress,LMP Outreach Chair/Director, for information on how you can assist in this worthwhile experience as a mentor and/or contacting students and schools for possible candidate for selection. LMP deadline to receive candidate names with their applications and supporting documentation is April.
